02SURFACE PREPARATION

Use over bare metal before the application of primers. Also use regularly after sanding and before applying topcoat. Use a clean cloth and apply to the surface. Wipe small areas with a Germa-Tech Prepsol wipe, then dry with a separate clean wipe. Do not allow Prepsol to dry on the surface.

04DRYING & CURING

No drying schedule is printed on the source sheet.

05RECOAT & REWORK

IF YOU MISS THE RECOAT WINDOWOnce the film has cured past its recoat window, do not put another coat straight over it — the new coat sits on the surface and lets go at the interface. Abrade the whole area first (P800 wet or a grey abrasive pad), degrease, tack off, then recoat.

06PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Densityapprox. 0.92 (relative density, water = 1) — estimated from the Safety Data Sheet; not separately measured
Equipment cleaningClean guns and equipment immediately after use with gun wash or a solvent cleaner. Never let mixed 2K product start to cure in the gun — once it kicks, no solvent will save it.

07STORAGE, SHELF LIFE & PACKS

Storage life (unopened)Up to 36 months unopened — SUBJECT TO correct storage: a cool, dry place below 20 °C, out of direct sun. Heat is the biggest killer of paint in the tin: stock stored or transported in hot vehicles, tin sheds, shipping containers or direct sunlight loses life fast whatever the date on the tin, and that is where most premature failures start. Storage life is an optimal guide, not a promise that survives a hot shed.
Once the seal is brokenOnce the seal is broken the clock starts, and how you store it sets the pace. This product: 90 days once the seal is broken, resealed tight — then discard.
StorageStore indoors in a cool, dry place below 20 °C, out of direct sunlight, with the lid sealed tight after every use. Never store or transport in heat — not in a tin shed, a shipping container, a hot van or a sunlit rack.

10STANDARD NOTES — THE SAME ON EVERY SHEET IN THIS SET

Standard inclusions are controlled: each note applies to every product in its named set, enforced at build. They cannot drift onto some sheets and off others.

11PRODUCT-SPECIFIC NOTES

WARNINGS CARRIED FORWARD FROM THE PREVIOUS SHEETDo not allow Prepsol to dry on the surface.

12GOOD TO KNOW — WHAT WE GET CALLED ABOUT

13TROUBLESHOOTING

DEFECTWHAT YOU SEEWHY IT HAPPENEDFIX
Fisheyes and cratersround dimples or craters that open up in the wet film within seconds of the coat going on, each with a speck or ring at the centresilicone, wax, oil or polish left on the panel, contaminated air lines, dirty rags or gloves, or overspray from a silicone product in the shopadd 0.5-1% Anti Silicon to the remaining paint and respray the affected area; on a serious one let the film hard dry, sand the fisheyes out, fill, then refinish with Anti Silicon in the mix - do not overdose it or you will get small bubbles and pinholes
Delamination and peelinga coat lets go of the one under it - the film peels, flakes or lifts off cleanly in sheets, often starting at an edge or a stone chipthe surface underneath was not keyed or was not clean - missed degrease, wrong or no undercoat, sanding grit too fine or missed altogether, recoat window blown, or basecoat left too long before clearremove all the loose film back to a sound layer, feather the edge, re-prime and rebuild the system properly
Blisteringsmall raised bubbles or pimples in the film, from about 0.5 mm up, sometimes appearing days or weeks after the jobmoisture or contamination trapped under the film - water or oil in the air line, a panel not dried after washing, wet-sanded filler primed before it dried, high humidity during application, or the substrate not degreasedsand the blistered layers off down to a sound layer or the substrate, re-prime and refinish
Bleeding and staininga stain, ring or colour change coming up through the new finish, usually over a repair, a filler edge or an old red or maroon panelsoluble colour or an incompatible old coating being dissolved by the solvent in the new coat - a filler or 2K product applied over thermoplastic paint, plastic primer or etch primer, or topcoat applied straight onto a sub-layer it reacts withsand back past the stained area, seal with 2K primer or epoxy primer, then refinish
Dirt and dust inclusionhard specks sitting in or under the cured film, felt with the back of the hand before they are seendust pulled in during application - panel not tacked off, static on plastic parts, dirty booth filters, contaminated air, overalls or gun, or crystallised additive poured straight from the tinsurface nibs come out after cure with P1500 working to P3000 then polish; anything embedded through the film has to be sanded and refinished
AUSTRALIAN CONDITIONSSolvent products flash faster as the temperature climbs. Above 30 °C expect a degreaser or blending solvent to evaporate before it has done its job — work smaller areas and wipe off before it dries. Keep containers closed and out of direct sun.

The information in this data sheet is given in good faith and is based on laboratory and field testing. Ampro Australia has no control over the conditions under which this product is used, so the end user must satisfy themselves that the product is suitable for the intended application and conditions. All times are quoted at 20 °C and 50% relative humidity unless stated otherwise. This sheet supersedes all previous issues.
